Forum Promotion: Good or Bad

Firstly Good day to everyone.

I’ve recently designed a new Forum and Website and as with all Forums and Websites  to give it life you need Traffic, and lots of it as well.

So I started using some forums to tell people about my new Website/Forum, I got lots of visitors but still no sales/responses.

I then decided to do some research into promoting your website/forum online and came up with a conclusion.

Here Goes….

Step 1:

First of if you want to sell your Product/Service online you will need customers that  is interested in what you are promoting.
example: if you are a online dating company its no use promoting your website in a online trading forum, for the simple fact is that people look for specific Products/Services in specific Forums.

How many times have you typed something into Google and click on a link just to find that you have been misled, Frustrating, isn’t it? U will then have an immediate negative association with that company, not something you would want for your Business/Website.

So what I would suggest you do is Analyze your Company/Website to find out who your customers will be, also identify what types of Products/Services will complement yours… You done?

Now you have just created a list of places to promote your Company/Service.

Step 2:

Is to go into Google (or any other search engine) and do a search for forums than correspond to your list and Sign-Up, its normal free to sign-up on most forums.

Step 3:

When you have Signed up to the forum they will give you the rules on how and what you may and may not post.

Some forums gives you the ability to add a signature to all your posts, A signature is like a small advertisement about your company (Some with and  some without pictures).

If you can add one GREAT, add your signature and start a general discussion about a topic you are interested in, Offer advice, tips, and general information to all the forum members, Soon you will become a trusted expert in the field giving advice etc to Forum members, that’s great because if the trust you enough to take your advice the will most likely visit you Company/Website and buy from you, you are after all the expert.

Hope these 3 steps helps you to get the targeted visitors you need.

Forums in general have HUGE amounts off visitors and members that come in every day to read about the latest happenings, and to discuss GOOD and bad experiences with  their peers.

So go out get your Company/Website Seen.
